CP: Introductory Activity for SSSD’s Programmes and Services - Beit Al Yasmine Community Center - Tartous.

"My simple ideas will become a great initiative" This is what one of the adolescents of the Children's Club expressed during a session carried out by the CP Team at Beit Al Yasmin Community Center, SSSD in cooperation with the UNHCR.

 As part of an activity that introducing SSSD programs and services, where the club’s team showed interest in Youth and community initiatives, presented some ideas and proposals to support their community and contribute to solving the problems within it.

 

CP: Awareness Sessions and Activities for Children - Beit Al Yasmine Community Center – Tartous

Based on the importance of the child's role in contributing to support his community and peers, in creating visions and ideas that help in solving their problems.

Within the framework of follow-up training for the Children's Club, the CP team at Beit Al Yasmine Community Center in cooperation with UNHCR, trained the club members on how to educate their peers about the dangers prevalent within their school and the surrounding environment Including (bullying - school dropout - verbal and physical abuse - employment)

After conducting a number of awareness sessions and related activities, during the activity, the club members were divided into several groups, and each group selected its educational theme and delivered the information in a way that suits it (play - true story - drawing).

Awareness sessions and training courses for breadwinner women in Banias countryside- Tartous

With the aim of reaching and empowering breadwinner women, within the 16-Day campaign against Gender-Based Violence, the Syrian Society for Social Development team in Tartous in cooperation with the UNHCR, carried out awareness sessions in different areas of Banias countryside in order to promote gender equality and empower women.

 Which included training them on mushroom cultivation - knitting - sewing - distillation of roses, in addition to an awareness session on data privacy policy, and the available means to protect against electronic blackmail and clarify the laws related to cyber-crimes by SARC team, and
"The Door-Knocking" campaign for beneficiaries who are hard to reach through social media.
the campaign concluded with an exhibition of women's products that were accomplished during the campaign, as a message expressing the ability of women and their independence.

And filming a video by young men and women calling for change and equality, in addition to the opening of a library at the Arab Cultural Center in Banias, includes special books on women to enhance their role in society.

 

Visiting the Elderly in their Homes - Baniyas, Tartous.

Due to the spread of Coronavirus and in order to preserve the safety and health of the elderly, SSSD, Beit Al-Yasmin Center, with the support of the (UNHCR) and in coordination with the health district in Banias, visited a number of elderly whose condition does not allow them to leave the house.

 Where some tests were conducted (pressure and diabetes) in order to check on them and their health.

 The activity ended with our wishes for health and wellness, and ensure commitment to preventive measures of the virus.

"It too early, her education will protect her" ... Messages for the campaign against Gender-Based Violence

"From empowerment at home to empowerment in the world for equality", "it is early for her, her education will protect her", messages sent by the Syrian Society for Social Development team in Tartous, Beit Al-Yasmin- Ward Jury - Elton Al Jurd centers in cooperation with the UNHCR during the 16-Day Campaign Against Sex Gender-Based Violence, on mobile phones by Syriatel and MTN.

It targeted more than 12,000 subscribers in Banias, Al-Qadmus and its countryside, which will be followed by a series of awareness messages during the campaign. In addition to what the children of the CP Club wrote on wall boards "Be, strong, educated, ambitious, educated, empowered, capable and persevering" expressing their support for women and girls' rights and their rejection of violence so that they can perform it at their schools after a puppet theater show about the campaign story by the SSSD team.

And conducting an awareness session with the women, during which the training of mushroom cultivation and basics in sewing, in addition to awareness on the importance of the campaign, a productive project that would benefit and empower them.
