According to applying of linking technology with education and investing technical tools in developing students' skills, knowledge and enhancing their capabilities, the educational team in the Syrian Society for Social Development, with support of UNHCR, implemented a model course at Elton Al-Jurd Center entitled "Electromagnetic induction" in physics for students of middle certificate within the systematic remedial courses.

20 male and female students were divided into two groups with full adherence to the public safety rules, and the implementation of precautionary measures facing Coronavirus (pre-sterilization of the place, temperature checks for students, sterilizing hands, wearing masks and gloves, and achieving spatial distancing)

The students get acquainted with the magnetic flux, its lines and field, Faraday’s law in electromagnetic induction, Lenz’s law, and the electric generator in terms of its parts and method of work.

The students expressed the importance of the information they obtained, especially as it established their previous theoretical information in a deductive manner and a clear understanding of the work of induction by implementing the lesson according to a assignment model and reliance on video clips explaining the mechanism of magnetic field formation.

In order to help students, prepare for the basic education certificate exam this year. The Syrian Society for Social Development in Tartous is conducting remedial and revision courses for basic education certificate students, in cooperation with Directorates of both Social Affairs and Labor and the Education in Tartous and with the support of UNHCR.

Experienced and competent teaching staff participate in giving lessons in specialist subjects such as mathematics, general sciences and English language with full commitment to apply procedures to address Coronavirus through achieving distancing between students and sterilization.

The largest number of students enrolled for these courses, was at Elton Al-Jurd Center for Rural Development. About 70 students were enrolled in Ward Jury and Beit Al-Yasmin Centers in Banias and in Elton Al-Jurd Center for Rural Development as well.

In the context of the preventive and precautionary steps taken by the government to confront the emerging COVID-19, and in view of the health risks posed by the aforementioned virus and its rapid spread, the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor at the Rural Development Center in Alton Al-Jurd, in cooperation with the Syrian Society for Social Development, conducted sterilization and preventive procedures in all departments of the center, including the administrative building, workshops… the aim of the latter was to ensure the maintenance of public health.
