"Small Steps" Campaign on the Occasion of the World Children's Day - Khaled Ibn Al-Waleed Center for Juvenile Delinquents - Rural Damascus

In the presence of the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, and the Director of Social Affairs and Labor in Rural Damascus, and in cooperation with TearFund, the Syrian Society for Social Development team, in collaboration with the management of the Khaled bin Al-Walid Center for Juvenile Deliquents, implemented an event entitled "Small Steps" on the occasion of the World Children's Day.

The llatter aimed to introduce adolescents to the rights of the child, and to reinforce the importance of advocating for these rights in an atmosphere of joy.

Furthermore, one of the adolescent boys expressed: “I haven’t felt this kind of joy for a very long time… I feel like I can express myself and talent in front of the audience with high self-confidence!”

World Children's Day, "Small Steps" campaign

Our friend Dora carries a lot of information in her bag for her friends. She set off her journey on the World Children's Day, where the Syrian Society for Social Development in cooperation with UNHCR, implemented an awareness-raising activity with the participation of the famous cartoon character Dora in the World Children's Day, "Small Steps" campaign at Ward Jury center-Banias.


The activity targeted a group of children in Shem Al-Bahr area, who is difficult to communicate with them by phone.


The session included introducing children to the World Children's Day and their rights, the children interacted during the session and they shared their views.

 

A Celebration on the Occasion of the International Day of People with Disability: “I can!”—Hama

As they are the most marginalized groups in society and in dire need of support, highlighting their rights, promoting the concept of their integration with their peers, and preparing a generation that is supportive of the rights of people with special needs and accepting them in various aspects of life.

 On the occasion of the International Day of Disabled Persons, the Syrian Society for Social Development team carried out a celebration in the Institute for Special Education for People with Intellectual Disabilities in Hama, in the presence of Eng. Muhammad Krishati, Governor of Hama, and Mr. Kamil Ramadan, Director of Social Affairs and Labor in Hama Governorate.

 The celebration included some recreational activities such as theater, games, and the distributing of gifts for people with special needs.
