In the context of the preventive and precautionary steps taken by the government to confront the emerging COVID-19, and in view of the health risks posed by the aforementioned virus and its rapid spread, the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor at the Rural Development Center in Alton Al-Jurd, in cooperation with the Syrian Society for Social Development, conducted sterilization and preventive procedures in all departments of the center, including the administrative building, workshops… the aim of the latter was to ensure the maintenance of public health.

"one candle could not light the place, but all our candles can light all over the place" is the title of an elderly session, which was implemented by the Syrian Society for Social Development at Ward Jury Center in cooperation with the UNHCR.

The session included exchange of opinions, social, cultural and educational ideas for the elderly, where each beneficiary lit a candle symbolizing his idea and conveyed to his colleague ,an expression of sharing each other's ideas, "our ideas to complete each other, even if my opinion differs from others I accept it and do not reject it and we cannot underestimate the importance or idea of anyone"
