Home-based Rehabilitation for Children with Intellectual Disabilities:

The inclusion of children with disabilities with their peers is considered a social and humanitarian necessity to enhance the concepts of acceptance, respect and support.

 

 As playing, is an effective way to develop social communication skills and interact with other children.

 

The HBR specialist for children at Beit Al-Yasmin Center, in cooperation with UNHCR, implemented an inclusive activity that included competitions and purposeful games that help focus, attention, visual-motor communication, identify spatial directions, achieve a better ability of physical fitness and increase communication and interaction among them.

 

An awareness session on Behavior Modification- Sada – Aqrab- Hama

The Syrian Society for Social Development in cooperation with the UNHCR and within the HBR program, conducted an awareness session at Sada - Aqrab Center on behavior modification, to meet the need of caregivers of children with disabilities and ordinary children to know ways to modify their children's behavior and how to properly deal with them.

 

In which they talked about the techniques of behavior modification and the correct handling of behavioral challenges and empowering parents to direct their children's behavior. In addition to talking about considerations and develop them when applying modification strategies.

 

The women responded significantly, and thanks to the new information that they learned, they are able now to understand more their children's behaviors and how to properly deal with these behaviors
