Risk Education Sessions in Homs – UNMAS Team Visit –Homs

In order to raise population’s awareness about the risks of unexploded objects (UXOs), the Syrian Society for Social Development (SSSD) team in Homs implemented risk education sessions in coordination and cooperation with the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS), with all support from The Syrian Government, key persons and municipalities.

The sessions were implemented in presence of UNMAS team in several villages in Homs’ countryside such as Heraki, Om Al-Amad, and Abou Khashbeh.

 

During the sessions, the team identified the types of UXOs, their risks and the right methods of protection from these risks. Other topics were discussed such as warning signs, safe behavior, emergency cases and the importance of reporting on the toll free number 108 designated by the Ministry of Interior.

The team also emphasized the importance of spreading awareness messages among the population in order to protect our children and insure a safe and protected community.

 Other topics were discussed such as warning signs, safe behavior, emergency cases and the importance of reporting on the toll free number 108 designated by the Ministry of Interior.

The sessions were implemented in several locations in Homs City such as Workers’ Suburb and Wadi Al Sayeh, and its countryside such as Al-Juwaikhat, Autan, Al-Mahfurah, Baydar Rafiah, Al-Shariqliah, Al-Shineah, Kurb Ali, Kferram, Oyoun Alwadi, and Rabah.
