Based on our role in developing human thought and clarifying and simplifying scientific concepts, and in response to the multiple questions that revolve in the minds of our children, the team of the Syrian Society for Social Development, in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees at the Amal Community Center in Aleppo, implemented an educational session for the ninth grade dropout children entitled “Distribution of Electrons".
After the session, the children were able to distribute the electrons in their different numbers to the seven energy levels. The session included a stereoscopic presentation of the atom's electrons, kinetic competitions, a demonstration video presentation, and a representative scene that included replaying and summing up the session information.
Some of the children comments after the session included:
"The video that we watched looks like a fictional world. I really enjoyed watching that atoms and electrons spinning everywhere around us."
"I now can correctly distribute electrons, no matter how large their number is."
I am extremely happy about my daughter's graduation from middle school. My only hope was that she succeeds after she got divorced at a young age and her husband left. This has had a great impact on our psyche at home, and her success actually made her happy again." With these words, one of the mothers expressed her joy at the success of her daughter.
Another one of the successful children expressed: “I have been out of school for a long time and you guys started with me from scratch until I was able to succeed and celebrate my success today with you.”
Success was the first step in restoring these children's confidence in themselves and that they are capable of succeeding in all areas of life.
In appreciation of the children’s efforts and perseverance after a long period of hard studying and diligence, and with the aim of sharing this joy that they have long awaited, the education program of the Syrian Society for Social Development, in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, was implemented in all community centers and spaces in Aleppo and its countryside. This celebration aimed to honor 802 successful children in the basic education certificate / The graduation from middle school.
The celebration included welcoming children and putting them in groups to move between centers of kinetic games and various mental competitions, followed by a video presentation of the life experiences of the children with the highest grades. Memorial photos were taken, a cake was cut and gifts were distributed, as the event concluded with a joy section.
Based on the desire and love of children to discover what is going on around them in real life, and because they are the generation that will build the future, the Syrian Society for Social Development, implemented in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, an educational activity entitled "My Future Profession". This activity was carried out within the summer club sessions at the Maskana Community Center in Aleppo countryside.
The session began with a theatrical presentation on the advantages of different professions, and then the children were divided into groups to identify the tools used in each profession separately. Then, a video was presented for children to choose the appropriate name for the profession mentioned in the video.
The session ended with dressing the children uniforms of a doctor, carpenter, fireman and cook, as the children learned the benefits of multi-professionalism in our lives.
The children expressed, in conclusion, their following thoughts:
“I want to become a pilot and visit all the countries of the world and get to know them.”
"I was hesitant and didn't know what I wanted to become when I grow up, but after this session I decided to become a firefighter in order to help people."
"I like to help my mom a lot in the kitchen. That’s why I got so happy when I dressed today as a chef."
"Everyone in life has their role. We should aim to take on multiple tasks so that we are able to help as
many people as possible.."
