GBV: Photo exhibition within the GBV campaign– Banyass, Tartous

Discrimination between male and female should be stop, because we have the same rights. At that time, we will limit the spread of violence significantly.”

This what one of the adolescent girls expressed during her attendance of a special session within the GBV campaign, carried out by the Syrian Society for Social Development team at Ward Jury Center in Baniyas, in cooperation with the UNHCR.

The session included raising awareness for adolescents (males - females) through a photo exhibition of the forms of GBV and its negative effects, and performing a puppet theater in an interactive manner, introducing through it the difference between male and female according to gender and sex.

After that, the adolescents classified the forms, causes and effects of existing GBV, they also presented solutions to reduce violence and emphasized the need to spread awareness and respect for human rights, and the need to find laws that support women and girls achieving equality between men and women, noting that all preventive measures for Coronavirus were taken into consideration during the session.
