Health Sector: SSSD as one of the most prominent humanitarian organizations in responding to COVID-19

From the start of the covid-19 pandemic, SSSD has made significant efforts in order to prevent and control the emerging virus in Syria, through intervening in most Syrian governorates, and targeting the most vulnerable populations and those in most need. Interventions varied, and included sterilization campaigns, awareness raising, and distributing IPC items such as PPEs and disinfectants.

Furthermore, SSSD is one of the most prominent distributors of PPEs, IEC materials and disinfectants among humanitarian organizations, whereby it distributed 45,574 items throughout several governorates, and among different groups including PwSN and their families, older persons, women, and men.

It is also worth mentioning that some of SSSD’s notable efforts were mentioned in the three latest OCHA weekly reports, emphasizing that our organization is the only NGO mentioned in these reports.
