Children's Bags CBIs for daily activities and uses

Because the children with special needs and the drop out children are among the basic groups targeted by SSSD through its various programs, the team of SSSD in Masyaf, in cooperation with the UNHCR, organized a CBI in Masyaf entitled "Children's bags for daily activities and uses"
The CBI, which was proposed through focus group discussion sessions with women at( home of the family CC), aims to motivate children with special needs and drop out children to participate in activities within the center, encouraging the PWSNs to integrate more with their surroundings and encouraging drop out children to get back to schools ,where more than 100 school bags were manufactured and distributed by women from the IDPs and local communities in Masyaf. The children participated in making bags through the selection of colors and accessories. The implementation of the CBI was completed on 20/5/2017.

Agriculture Gloves for women

Based on our belief in the right of women to work and the importance of exercising their role in society, the team of the Syrian Society for Social Development in Masyaf, in collaboration with UNHCR, established a CBI in the village of Hawair Turkoman.
The CBI, which was proposed through focus group discussion sessions with women in the village, aims to the cooperation of IDPs and local women and the exchange of experiences among them to sew thick linen gloves covering the palm and forearms to protect women during their work in the field of wounds, ulcers and poisonous reptiles, the gloves were finished on 4/6/2017 for more than 85 women.

Electric lamps

Because the protection against harassment is a human and community responsibility, the Syrian Society for Social Development team in Masyaf, in cooperation with the UNHCR, established a CBI in the shelters (MaanSalha–Tahfeez Al quraan institute –Al Makhfar Al Qadeem)
The CBI, which was proposed through Focus group discussion with the residents of the shelters, aims to cooperate with the men to create wooden electric lamps, including a battery with four lids on the sides. These lamps are placed in the corridors of the shelters and is able to be carried by women and children to and from the bathrooms at night.
The impact of this CBI was reflected by the significant decrease in the number of harassment cases in the shelters. The manufacture of lamps was completed on 5/8/2017.

Privacy Curtains

Because the right of privacy for children and women is a sacred right,Syrian Society for Social Development team in Masyaf, in cooperation with the UNHCR, established a CBI at Tahfeez Al quraan Institute shelter
The CBI, which was proposed through focus group discussion session with the women at the center, aims to manufacture and sew curtains for various uses (curtains for windows, , partitions for the same room, personal curtains) to protect the privacy of families due to the nature of the crowded shelter, without any separation Between the rooms where the sewing of the curtains was completed and installed in the center on 12/12/2017 for the benefit of more than 15 families of residents of the shelter.

GCBI: Joy – Hama

The underlying goal of the Syrian Society for Social Development (SSSD) is to spread love and joy everywhere. Believing that the right to play and to recreation for children is sacred, a group of young people, supported by the SSSD team in Hama and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), launched a global capacity building initiative under the title “Joy”.
The initiative aimed at creating friendships between the children of both IDP and host communities in Hama city through the design and fitting out of a playground that includes a number of educational and sports games. The GCBI included implementing some events at the Shabablik Center at the Station Roundabout, including various activities (competitions and games, prize distribution, drawing on the faces of children, taking souvenir pictures of the participants). The GCBI activities started immediately after the end of the Spring Break in schools.
