Hand in hand - Hama

As part of the home rehabilitation program, the Syrian Society for Social Development, in cooperation with the UNHCR, held an activityto integratea group of children with disabilities with a group of normal children, after preparing the normal children to meet up with the disabled ones and introducing them to disability.
the activity interspersed competitions (colors - paste - balls) and after the division of teams and set the rules of the session, the children helped each other to win.
During the activity, we observed the acceptance of ordinary children to their peers with need, assistance and active participation among themselves and cooperation to win.

My child’s health is my responsibility

There has been a recent increase in the use of bad and excessive smart phones and mobile phones by children, which negatively affects their health and safety of their eyes.

So, the Syrian Society for Social Development in cooperation with the (UNHCR) organized a session to raise awareness about the protection of children under the title of "Health of my child”. Dr. Ali Al-Helouni, a neurologist, spoke about the harmful effects of excessive use of electronic devices on the nervous system and on children's sense of sight.

He stressed the importance of children's leisure time in things that are harmless to their.

Mentoring Programme - Fly, fly

The role of the friendship groups for people with special needs is to develop cognitive skills and to increase the children's language. Therefore, the Syrian Society for Social Development team in cooperation with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees carried out a series of activities for the Al-Wafa group for children with special needs through which children were introduced to all types of transportations “land, sea, air “andthe specs of each one. We concluded the series as well as talk about how to protect ourselves from accidents while crossing the streets.

World Day of Mental Health

On the occasion of mental health World Day, the Syrian Society for Social Development, in cooperation with the (UNHCR), organized an event in which we talked about the behavioral disorders of children (hyperactivity, anger, bullying). then presented each disorder through image theater and the ladies found solutions to the problems posed and explained more about the disorder.
As for the adolescents, the work was about bullying only and the children shared their experiences and problems they saw or were exposed to in schools.

A Youth Skills - Mentoring Programme

Because the evaluation and the follow-up of the impact assessment was one of the most important factors in the success of our work in accompanying and development, SSSD team, in cooperation with the United Nations of High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Home of the family CC / Masyaf _Hama included the young participants in the SSSD got talent event _ which was held in August on the occasion of World Day of Youth activities_ in the activities of the friend program to develop their talents , enhance their self-confidence and prepare them to be active members of the community and in the community center.
The activities carried out on the walls of the community center and the forming sports teams to be ready to participate in any sport activity or competition that could be implemented within the region in the future.

Making pomegranate molasses - Dahab Atiq

(Cooperation is the foundation of success, one hand does not clap, our heritage is our foundation).
With these words, the ladies of (old but gold) categor expressed their appreciation for the recreational activity organized by the Syrian Society for Social Development in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) .
The aim of the activity was to share the experiences of the ladies in making the pomegranate molasses and to develop the spirit of cooperation among them. The number of women was 35 women, we divided the women into groups, one group peeled the pomegranate, another cleaned the peel. The groups of shared its health benefits on the body ,skin and fat burning.
Then, the juice were brought to the fire with the help of SSSD volunteers and we have produced a distinctive and thick pomegranate molasses. The activity was very fun and full of laughter, and some women played songs about pomegranate.
After finishing the work, we provided some drinks and sweets for the ladies to share.

Building and Managing CBIs

Workshop on "Building and Managing CBIs" - Hama and Masyaf.
In order to familiarize Syrian youth with the concept of CBIs, the Syrian Society for Social Development organized a workshop entitled "Building and Managing CBIs" in Hama and Masyaf in cooperation with the UNHCR. The workshop included:

- The concept of society.
- Identification of community needs.
- Community problem solving methodology
- Design and preparation of the CBI.

The workshop was attended by a group of young men and women who have the desire to initiate and solve the problems of their society and to leave a positive impression. The concept of CBIs has been widely recognized and the tools needed to design and manage effective CBI that basically serve the Syrian youth, society and the most vulnerable groups.

Supporting the associations

The Syrian Society for Social Development seeks to support and empower local and private associations to help them respond to various needs and challenges through funding their quick-impact projects.
The Syrian Society for Social Development, in collaboration with UNHCR Syria, and within the CBO program, organized three training programs in the governorate of Hama and its rural on the concepts of strategic planning and human resource management, as well as the concepts of project management and technical and financial studies.

Family stars

under title of “Family stars", the summer activities were concluded at Family of All CC, Hama, Masyaf, where the Syrian Society for Social Development team in collaboration with the UN High carried out a final event for the summer activities that lasted for two and a half months. The children and adolescents were trained in sports, painting, Sculpture, acting and singing. The activities started with an exhibition of activities results, in addition to a football league, table football, theatrical plays and choral for children and young people.

Children's Bags CBIs for daily activities and uses

Because the children with special needs and the drop out children are among the basic groups targeted by SSSD through its various programs, the team of SSSD in Masyaf, in cooperation with the UNHCR, organized a CBI in Masyaf entitled "Children's bags for daily activities and uses"
The CBI, which was proposed through focus group discussion sessions with women at( home of the family CC), aims to motivate children with special needs and drop out children to participate in activities within the center, encouraging the PWSNs to integrate more with their surroundings and encouraging drop out children to get back to schools ,where more than 100 school bags were manufactured and distributed by women from the IDPs and local communities in Masyaf. The children participated in making bags through the selection of colors and accessories. The implementation of the CBI was completed on 20/5/2017.
